This Privacy Policy describes how The Sowaka Project Private Limited ("Sowaka", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, discloses, stores, and protects personal information of individuals ("you", "user") who access or use the Strydes iOS application ("the App").
Strydes is a business-to-business workplace wellness app that lets organisations ("Participating Organisations") host step-based fitness challenges for their employees, interns, and members.
By downloading, installing, or using Strydes on iOS, you confirm that you have read and understood this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

We collect only the information needed to deliver the App's core functionality.
Strydes does not access Apple HealthKit or the Apple Health app. Step data is read directly from device hardware via CMPedometer. We request access only to step count data and do not access location, heart rate, sleep, nutrition, or any other health category.
Strydes requests the following permissions on your iOS device. No other permissions are requested.

Strydes does not request access to HealthKit, camera, microphone, contacts, photos, location, push notifications, Bluetooth, Face ID, Touch ID, or calendars.
To keep your daily step count accurate without requiring the App to be open, Strydes uses two iOS background modes:
UIBackgroundModes: fetch) — iOS periodically wakes the App to read your current step count from CMPedometer and sync it to our secure backend.UIBackgroundModes: processing) — BGTaskScheduler is used to schedule the same sync task when system conditions allow.These background modes only read step count data and sync it to our backend. No audio, camera, location, contacts, or other sensor data is accessed in the background.
You can disable background refresh at any time in Settings > General > Background App Refresh > Sowaka.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We do not use your data for advertising or behavioural profiling.
Your information is shared only in the following limited circumstances:
Step counts, name, and challenge participation data are shared with the organisation that has invited you to a challenge, for the purpose of administering the challenge and displaying leaderboards. Organisations are contractually required to use this data only for legitimate wellness and engagement purposes.
We use Supabase to securely store user accounts, step data, and challenge information. Supabase hosts data on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and processes data on our behalf under its data processing terms.
We may engage additional trusted third-party providers (such as crash reporting tools) strictly to operate and improve the App. Such providers process data only on our behalf and are bound by confidentiality and data protection obligations.
We may disclose information when required by law, court order, or where necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Sowaka, our users, or the public.
Your data is stored on secure infrastructure provided by Supabase, hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Mumbai, India (ap-south-1). We apply industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS 1.2 or higher) and at rest. Access to personal data is restricted to authorised Sowaka personnel on a need-to-know basis.
While we implement reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, no system is entirely immune to compromise. In the event of a personal data breach affecting your information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by applicable law.
We retain your personal data for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account, or your Participating Organisation removes you from a challenge programme, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required for legal, accounting, or dispute-resolution purposes.
Aggregated and anonymised data that cannot reasonably identify you may be retained beyond this period for analytics and product improvement.

Strydes is designed for employees, interns, and members of organisations that use our platform. By using the App, you confirm you are at least 16 years of age.
If you are under 18, you may use Strydes only with verifiable consent from a parent or legal guardian. The Participating Organisation enrolling such a user is responsible for obtaining this consent prior to enrolment.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If we become aware that such data has been collected, we will delete it promptly. Contact us at care@getsowaka.com if you believe a child under 16 has provided us with personal data.
Your personal data is processed and stored in Mumbai, India (AWS region: ap-south-1). By using the App, you consent to your data being processed in India. If you access Strydes from outside India, please note that India's data protection laws may differ from those of your country of residence.
The App may occasionally contain links to or integrations with third-party services. This Policy does not apply to those third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party service before sharing your information with them.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal obligations. The "Last Updated" date at the top indicates when the latest revision took effect.
Material changes will be communicated through the App, by email, or by other reasonable means prior to the changes taking effect. Your continued use of the App following such notice constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
